To
register to vote, you need to complete a voter registration application
and return it to the Board of Elections.
You can download a copy of
the form here, then print, complete, and mail it to:
Davidson
County Board of Elections
P.O. Box 1084
Lexington, NC 27293-1084
Do
not fax the form! The Board of Elections requires an original
signature.
You
can also obtain a copy at any public library and many government
offices. You can also register when you obtain or renew your driver's
license. If you have moved or changed your name, you must
re-register. Voter registration books close 25 days prior
to any primary, special, or general election.
Naturally,
we hope you will register as a Democrat, but the choice is yours.
To vote in a party's primary election, you must be registered in
that party. For example, if you want to vote for who should be the
Democratic nominee for President, you must be registered as a Democrat.
The
Davidson County Board of Elections office is located at 912
Greensboro Street, which is in the parking lot adjacent to the Davidson
County Governmental Center in Lexington.
You
can also download the Davidson
County Board of Elections Voting Guide, which explains all of
your options for voting.
If
you need to check your current voter registration, you can do so
on the State
Board of Elections website or by contacting the Davidson County
Board of Elections at (336) 242-2190 or emailing Ruth Huneycutt
at rhuneycu@co.davidson.nc.us.
