State Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson to Address Davidson County Democratic Convention

April 3, 2006 (Lexington, NC) - The Davidson County Democratic Party County Convention will be held this Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the County Court House, Courtroom C, in Lexington. The keynote speaker is Dr. June Atkinson, State Superintendent of Public Instruction. "We are thrilled that Dr. Atkinson is joining us," said Loretta Martin, chair of the Davidson County Democratic Party. "Our children's education is a top priority for the Democratic Party and we look forward to hearing Dr. Atkinson's remarks."

Candidates for local offices, including county commissioner and sheriff, will also speak. Delegates to the district and state conventions will be elected and resolutions may be considered. All registered Democrats are encouraged to attend.
